Archived Webinar: PressbooksEDU Live Demo

Pressbooks is an open source publishing platform that has been used successfully for open textbooks created in Oregon. Pressbooks allows users to publish in multiple formats (web, EPUB, PDF and more), includes math rendering with MathJax, interactive quiz building using H5P, and annotation with Hypothesis. Example: Seven Wonders of Oregon by Timothy Krause.

Open Oregon Educational Resources can help Oregon’s public colleges and universities get a discount on institutional PressbooksEDU networks. There is room in the statewide network for one-off book pilots at no institutional cost. If your pilot works out and you’d like to make a lot more Pressbooks, then an institutional network may be the right choice.

Liz Mays, Director of Sales & Marketing at Pressbooks, demonstrates Pressbooks’ educational features for OER creation and adaptation, and talks about the new consortial Pressbooks offering available to Open Oregon Educational Resources member institutions.
