90-minute Webinar: Gray Areas: A Scenario-Based Workshop on AI, Copyright, and OER

By | April 21, 2026

Join us for a 90-minute webinar led by members of the Copyright First Responders Pacific Northwest!

AI tools are everywhere in education but so are the legal and ethical gray areas they create. In this interactive workshop, participants will work through scenarios involving AI-generated content, open licensing, and OER development. What counts as a derivative work? When does fair use apply? Can AI-assisted content carry a CC license? When and how should we attribute AI-generated content? Come ready to practice!

This session is a followup to the 90-minute Open Ed Week webinar AI, Copyright, and Open Education: What We Know Now. We recommend watching the recording but it’s not required to attend this workshop.

This 90-minute webinar takes place from 2-3:30 pm Pacific time, May 15, 2026.
The session will be recorded and captioned to share later.
We will enable automatic captions in the session. Please let us know about additional accommodations you need to participate in this webinar.
