Open Textbook Workshop

By | October 14, 2015

Earn $200 to review an open textbook

Are you an instructor who is concerned about the impact of high textbook costs on your students? Explore possible open textbook solutions by attending a workshop and writing a review of a textbook in the Open Textbook Library. Receive a $200 stipend for your efforts!

After the workshop you are invited to join Clackamas faculty at the Growler Run across the street for a first Friday Pints & Pedagogy conversation.

This workshop will be led by Amy Hofer, Coordinator, Statewide Open Education Library Services. It is open to all Oregon community college instructors.

What You Can Do

Attend the Open Textbook Workshop — a two-hour session where you can discover open textbooks in your field. After the workshop, you’ll be asked to write a review of an open textbook. Your review will benefit other faculty considering open textbooks. You’ll receive a $200 stipend for your participation and written review.

Don’t see a complete textbook in your discipline? Contact Amy Hofer ([email protected]) for help finding other open/low cost materials to support your classes.

The Fine Print

Register for this workshop by Monday, October 30. Capacity is limited, and complete/open textbooks are not available for all subjects. Preference for this workshop will be based on textbook subject area availability. Check available textbooks in the Open Textbook Library.

NOTE: Bring your own device!

Travel reimbursement will not be provided. Parking is free – more information on the campus map.
