90-minute Webinar: The Intersection of Wikipedia and Open Education Resources

By | February 6, 2024

Join us for a 90-minute workshop exploring the intersection of Wikipedia and OER, two powerful resources. We’ll start with an overview of Wikipedia as a high-profile, Creative Commons-licensed resource; then we’ll draw parallels between critiques of OER and critiques of Wikipedia. Finally, we’ll launch into some hands-on time to edit pages relevant to Open Ed Week, so you can put your newfound knowledge to practice. Please create a Wikipedia account before the workshop.

This workshop will be led by Laurie Bridges, an OSU librarian and co-founder of the Wikimedia Campaign #EveryBookItsReader.

This webinar takes place from 11:30-1:00 pm Pacific time, March 5, 2024.
The session will be recorded and captioned to share later.
We will enable automatic captions in the session. Please let us know about additional accommodations you need to participate in this webinar.

This looks really interesting. I host an annual Wiki Edit-a-thon, so I look forward to this.
