Open Education Resources Workshop for Librarians

BCcampus is doing wonderful work on OER through their Open Textbook Project as well as the BCOER librarians’ group. In this online workshop, the presenters will share information on developing open textbooks, coordinating efforts for supporting open education resource access and use, and librarian leadership through outreach and multi-institutional projects.

Presenters:

Amanda Coolidge, Manager, Open Education at BCcampus
Amanda supports the development and sharing of open educational resources in BC. She project manages the adoption, adaptation, and creation of OER and provides technical and instructional design support for the B.C. Open Textbook Project.

Leva Lee, Manager, Professional Learning and Open Education Resources at BCcampus
Leva is the steward for the BC Educational Technology Users group and a lead facilitator for the work of the BCOER, a group of B.C. post-secondary librarians working together since December 2013 to support the use of quality Open Education Resources (OER).

Erin Fields, Liaison Librarian and Coordinator of Flexible Learning at the University of British Columbia
Erin’s current work involves collaborating on a localized open online course on digital and information literacies, piloting an open badging structure across three programs, and supporting the flexible learning initiative at UBC. She is a lead facilitator in the BCOER Librarians group.
